September 30, 2024 - The Board of the Financial Market Commission (CMF), through Exempt Resolution No. 8,791, fined Clínica Las Condes S.A. UF 50 for infringing upon Circular Letters No. 1,891 of 1993 and No. 635 of 2010.
Pursuant to the Law on Corporations, dividends and other benefits not claimed by shareholders within five years after they become due will be transferred to Chilean Fire Brigades. According to the cited Circular Letters, supervised corporations must disclose to the National Fire Brigade Board all amounts of dividends and other benefits unclaimed by shareholders within 10 days after their lapsing (i.e., when they were transferred to Fire Brigades).
However, Clínica Las Condes S.A. did not submit information pertaining dividends Nos. 41, 42 and 43. This infringement hinders the National Fire Brigade Board to learn in a timely manner about the monies it could claim from these dividends.
