CMF delists 51 Private Investment Fund Managers from the Registry of Reporting Entities due to not managing a private investment fund over 12 months

June 27, 2024 - The Board of the Financial Market Commission (CMF) delisted 51 Private Investment Fund Managers (AFIPs, for their Spanish acronym) from the Special Registry of Reporting Entities as these entities failed to fulfill the condition of have at least one private investment fund under their management over the past 12 months. Said situation is a cause for removal from the Registry pursuant to the provisions of General Rule No. 475 of 2022.

AFIPs are closed corporations that may manage private investment funds. According to Article 90 of the Single Fund Act, these companies are not supervised by the CMF regarding their activity as fund managers, but they must be enrolled in the Special Registry of Reporting Entities and are subject to reporting requirements mandated by the Single Fund Act and General Rule No. 475.

Concerning ongoing reporting obligations, AFIPs must submit the following information to the CMF on a quarterly basis:

Name of the private investment fund and its Taxpayer Identification Number.
List of participants.
Value of the fund's assets and liabilities.
AFIPs without private investment funds under their management must expressly state so.
