March 20, 2024 - "The Financial Market Commission (CMF) reports on the information provided by insurance companies regarding the fires that affected the Valparaíso Region. According to the data collected until March 8, general insurance companies have reported a total of 1,268 incidents, the majority (691) related to damages to residential properties, followed by vehicle damage (398) and other types of damage (179).

By municipalities, the reports are mainly concentrated in Viña del Mar and Quilpué.
Settlements of claims
Out of the total reported incidents, 596 have been settled to date, accounting for 47% of the total claims received by general insurance companies. The remaining 53% are still in the process of settlement.
It is worth noting that settlement is the process by which the occurrence of the incident is determined, whether it is covered by an insurance policy, and the compensation or payment if applicable."
