November 13, 2023 - The Financial Market Commission (CMF) reports that Commissioner Augusto Iglesias was elected as member of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) during the IAIS Annual General Assembly held in Tokyo, Japan on November 9, 2023. Iglesias will serve a two-year term ending in November 2025.

Insurance regulators and supervisors from over 200 jurisdictions, and which comprise more than 97 percent of the world's insurance premiums, are IAIS members. The Association's main objectives are to promote an effective and globally consistent supervision of the insurance industry; develop and maintain a fair, safe, and stable insurance market for policyholders' benefit and protection; and contribute to global financial stability.

Chile is a founding member of the IAIS, and the CMF participates in different committees, workgroups, and forums organized by it, including the Executive Committee in charge of its strategic direction.
