April 28, 2023 - The Financial Market Commission (CMF) spoke this week before two subcommittees under the Expert Commission in charge of preparing a draft proposal for a new Chilean Constitution. On Tuesday, Deputy Chairman Mauricio Larraín and Commissioner Bernardita Piedrabuena addressed the Subcommittee on Jurisdictional Function and Autonomous Bodies. Today, CMF Chairwoman Solange Berstein presented the Commission's vision to the subcommittee on Political System, Constitutional Reform, and State Structure.

The CMF authorities stressed the importance of continuing to strengthen the Commission's technical nature, creating the conditions for the Commission's functional and budgetary autonomy at the constitutional level. This is to ensure it successfully fulfills its goal of safeguarding the wellbeing of people through proper functioning, development, and stability of the financial market.
