September 24, 2025 - The Board of the Financial Market Commission (CMF) sanctioned Chubb Seguros Chile S.A. and Chubb Seguros de Vida Chile S.A. with UF 150 each for violating both Article 12 of the Insurance Act and the provisions of General Rule No. 470. This was due to not replying to requests from the Insurance Inquiry System (SICS, for its Spanish acronym) for 19 consecutive days.
The SICS allows insurance companies to inform inquiring parties about policies in which they or a relative (whether deceased or with declared incapacity) are registered as policyholders or contracting parties. This not only facilitates access to said information but also allows for effective use of insurance contracts. As the SICS operates digitally, in real time, automatically and through interconnections, insurance companies must comply with a series of operational requirements and contract information availability.
Per Exempt Resolution No. 9,541, Chubb Seguros Chile S.A. and Chubb Seguros de Vida Chile S.A. failed to make their systems available during the specified timeframe.
