Francisco Cabezón Ferraté, General Director of Prudential Regulation

Francisco Cabezón Ferraté

Economics Commercial Engineer, Master in Financial Economics from the University of Santiago de Chile and Master of Science in Economics from Queen Mary University of London. He joined the former Superintendence of Banks and Financial Institutions (currently the CMF) in 2012 as an analyst in its Market Transparency Unit.

Mr. Cabezón then took over as Head of the Financial Services Supervision Unit in 2013; as Head of the Financial Services Department in 2016; and later as Head of the Supervision Directorate between 2017 and 2019. He then held the position of Director of Regulatory Risk at Deloitte Chile for five years while teaching Banking Regulation in the Master's Degree in Financial Economics at the University of Santiago de Chile.

During his career, Mr. Cabezón has worked as a consultant in licensing and regulatory compliance projects for regulated financial institutions. He has also led banking supervision teams in on-site and off-site reviews and has worked in the design of the model and supervision of compliance with the Maximum Conventional Rate, among others.
